Oral History Centre Memberships

Beginning in January 2015 the Oral History Centre introduced Oral History Centre Memberships. The Oral History Centre relies on workshop fees, memberships, and donations to sustain its daily operations and deliver educational programming. Your membership will help us to maintain the Centre’s equipment, and contribute to the development of further workshop programming and educational resources. Memberships also have benefits for you, such as the opportunity to borrow OHC equipment, reserve our computer lab, book our recording studio, and discounted workshop fees.

The OHC offers 3 different types of Membership: Individual Memberships, Group Memberships, and Corporate Memberships. Details of each are detailed below.

If you do not require an OHC Membership but would like to keep up to date on Oral History news and events, there is also the Friends of the OHC program. As a Friend of the OHC, you will receive occasional updates on OHC events as well as our fundraising campaigns. Becoming a Friend of the Oral History Centre is as simple as signing up for our mailing list, which you can do by contacting the OHC.

If you would like to support the OHC through making a donation, you can do so by visiting our donations page or contacting the University of Winnipeg Foundation directly.

Existing Membership Renewal

Memberships are renewable on the last day of the month in which you completed the OHC Introduction to Oral History Series. For example, if you completed the “After the Interview” workshop on January 22, 2015, your membership renewal date would be renewable on January 31, each year beginning in 2016.

You can easily renew your membership through our secure Online Store, in person, or by mail. To renew in person or by mail, please download and complete the Membership Renewal slip.

If you are not sure if your OHC Membership is active or not, simply contact us to find out.

Memberships and workshops for groups are normally coordinated by a project leader or coordinator. Rates for group members are charged on a sliding-scale accordance with the size and capacity of your team or organization, and are determined in consultation with the OHC Associate Director.

Group training can be arranged anywhere between 5 and 12 participants, and the fee for this training includes 1yr OHC memberships for up to 5 group members.
