Interviews conducted in 1988 with 47 Mennonite women who discuss their birthing experiences, and those of other family members and friends. Topics include hospital births, the influence of technology on childbirth and attitudes of the medical profession to childbirth, midwifery, breast-feeding, child-rearing, and women's roles in Mennonite communities. Two doctors were also interviewed. Places mentioned include Winnipeg, Steinbach, Carmen, Altona, and Winkler.
